2014-09-30 Server Upgrade Completed
By LawrenceOur server upgrade was finally completed last night without any trouble.
We will proceed to further our server testing for our real-time tools and schedule a database clean up this weekend.
The main technology improvement we are getting from this upgrade is the use of Solid State Drive (SSD).
From our testing the higher resolution real-time tools require sustained access to the database of the web server for record keeping. That causes significant performance impact on the website itself and the signal streaming. With SSD we should be able to resolve the problem as they are designed to overcome the weaknesses of classic hard drives.
If all goes well, our real-time tools release schedule is delayed but still on track for the major goals to be completed within this year.
For forex traders, this delay affects you most and I apologize for not foreseeing this hardware issue roadblock. I assumed having a web server with enough CPU power will do the job but I was so wrong. Hopefully this is the last hardware issue we have to deal with in coming months.
