Abbreviations and Short Forms

By Lawrence

Please add your abbreviations and short descriptions here so that I can better organize them over time.

This way, newcomers can understand our lingos better.

On a second thought, I will assign someone to handle the organization. =P

Pardon my french, but what is a dirty bottom? =)

    • Lawrence Chan April 28, 2012 at 2:17 pm

It is a term suggested by miniflowtrader and somehow we stick to the term since.

Dirty Bottoms are bottoms resulted from chart formations that are usually continuation patterns to the downside.

For example, a bear flag that suddenly turn to the upside violently instead of a push back down to retest the swing low that started the bear flag.

Such bottoms are dirty – they are created from squeeze on the shorts as oppose to a flush of the weak longs.

Often these bottoms will be retested once the squeeze is over, and no new longs are willing to jump onto the boat.
